FP BOIS contributes to sustainable
forest management as the holder of FSC and PEFC certifications.
The FSC certificate is issued by the FSC (Forest Stewardship
Council). The FSC has set principles and criteria for forest
operation in accordance with ecological and social criteria
as well as standards that must be respected in forests identified
by the FSC label.
The file on this certification is available at the headquarters of our society."
Independent certification bodies are responsible for regularly
checking the forest concessions.
The PEFC logo certifies that the wood used in the marked products
was gathered in forests whose owners are committed to respecting
the rules governing sustainable forest management.
"Sustainable development must satisfy present day needs
without compromising the ability of future generations to
meet their needs".
The European sustainable forest management process defines
6 main criteria :
1. maintenance of biological production capacities,
2. maintenance of excellent sanitary conditions ,
3. satisfaction of the wood production function,
4. respect of biodiversity,
5. soil and water protection,
6. supplies for the various "amenities" (reception,
landscaping, etc.).
The PEFC logo also guarantees that the industrialists who
have processed these products have satisfied the PEFC control
chain requirements.
In addition to the concerns mentioned above, this also includes
respect for the ozone layer.
Our varnishing chain is thus equipped with special equipment
for applying water-based varnish as well as solvent-free and
non-polluting varnishes whose quality is superior to traditional
varnishes. These products respect the environment and the
ozone layer thanks to the absence of volatile organic compound
(VOC) discharges.
